NOTE: This update replaces Bluetooth firmware version 1.0.4. If your device shows version 1.0.5 when checking "Device Version" in the SoundSend application, this update is not necessary.
- Update your mobile application to Version 1.0.6 (or higher) to enable the display of the Bluetooth Firmware Revision.
If needed (Check “Device Version” in the SoundSend mobile app in the Advanced Settings tab for FW Rev#). If you need to update, leave the SoundSend powered on for normal operation when it completes. - Install the application “WiSABluetooth” from the Apple App Store.
- Enable Bluetooth on your Apple device.
- Make sure there are no devices connected to SoundSend with a mobile app.
- You may need to unplug the SoundSend from power for at least 10 seconds and power back on before you begin. This utilizes Bluetooth for communication between your mobile device and the SoundSend, only one application can connect to it at a time, including the update utility.
NOTE: Close the SoundSend Application completely before continuing.
5. Start the Update app and click "set filename". |
|
6. Select soundsend_v1.0.5. |

NOTE: All MAC address numbers in this document are examples only - your MAC address will not match anything in this document. |
|
10. The title bar will now display the connected device and the Device Address will show the same Bluetooth address as the SoundSend mobile app. When the “Start OTAU” button becomes clickable (turns blue), click it to start the upgrade. |
|
11. After clicking “Start OTAU”, the download starts and a progress bar indicates the download status. NOTE: Do not click Abort after starting the upgrade. |
|
12. When Bluetooth Paring Request is shown, click on "Pair" |
|
13. When the upgrade completes, Bluetooth automatically disconnects; |
|
14. If the upgrade fails, close and restart the update application and follow all steps from step 1, and then connect to “OTA Update” at step 9. NOTE: The numbers under OTA Update are not going to be the same as the SoundSend. |
- After you’ve updated your SoundSend, you may need to completely unplug SoundSend (HDMI and power) and then plug it back in before the Bluetooth FW version displays correctly. When incorrect, the app will display “Bluetooth: 208.208.208,” and should be “Bluetooth: 1.0.5” after unplugging SoundSend and plugging it back in.
